Project: Bendik Works
Type: Identity / web design
The Bendik Works identity is centered around the logo, or rather the logo system. As an attempt at making something more interactive and exciting than a regular vector logo, I built a system of basic shapes with a bright yellow circle in the center. Using 3 different shapes, allowing rotation and the choice of no shape, results in 100 000 000 (10⁸) different variants of the logo. Thanks to the strict placement system and a bright yellow circle in the middle, the logo is still recognizable, even without a single "correct" logo.
I wanted to make this type of variable logo to showcase and emphasize my interest in the marriage of code and design. (If you are reading this text on a computer, try clicking the logo on the upper left corner. ↖)
To keep some of this variability, also on print, the business cards feature a hole in the middle of the card, replacing the yellow circle and changing the appearance of the card depending on the surroundings.
